What makes a strong AI letter prompt?

A style word is only the starting point. “Bubblegum” might mean matte, sticky, transparent or balloon-like. Observable material properties such as elastic, highly polished or strongly inflated give the image model a much clearer direction. Add a defined letterform, one consistent light source and a precise crop.

Perspective, subject size and lighting remain consistent throughout this series. Every letter appears by itself on a square transparent canvas while only the material changes. Pink, mint and cream reflect my brand palette without forcing every idea into the same surface treatment.

How to adapt the prompts to your own brand

  1. Change only the letter first and keep every other instruction unchanged.
  2. Then replace no more than two or three colours with your brand colours.
  3. Keep the light source, perspective, canvas and subject scale identical throughout the series.
  4. Generate short words one letter at a time and assemble them cleanly afterwards.

Why material words work better than vague style words

Words such as “modern”, “creative” or “aesthetic” describe an impression but not a visible surface. Short velvet pile, mirror metal, jelly, flower petals and chewing gum provide concrete information about light, texture and form. The more observable the wording, the easier it is for an image model to translate.

Iteration still matters. Check the readability of the letter first, then the material, and only then fine-tune colour and small reflections. This makes it much easier to understand which prompt change actually improved the result.

Gummy candy is not the same as jelly

Both materials can be translucent, but they respond to light differently. Jelly looks soft, wet and almost liquid, so stronger refraction and larger air bubbles make sense. Fruit gummy candy is firmer, slightly cloudier and usually cast in a flatter mould. A subtle microtexture, narrow mould seam and restrained gloss prevent a gummy letter from turning back into wobbly jelly.

Frequently asked questions about AI-generated letter styles

Because “cool” defines neither material, lighting nor shape. Specify the exact letter, surface, stroke weight, perspective, light source, colour palette, composition and exclusions. The model then has fewer decisions to improvise, making results more repeatable.

State the letter unambiguously more than once: “exactly one single uppercase letter B”, followed by “no additional letters, no words, no symbols”. Always inspect the result because image models still handle letterforms less reliably than professional typesetting software.

Ask for a “true transparent background with alpha channel” rather than simply “no background”. Then inspect the exported PNG in an image editor. A visible checkerboard can be baked into the pixels and does not necessarily indicate real transparency.

At the moment, I recommend OpenAI when you want the letter to be generated directly with a true transparent background. Gemini and Adobe Firefly are also useful for developing the style. If their transparency is unreliable, generate the letter on a calm solid-colour background and remove it afterwards. Always inspect the exported PNG because a checkerboard may simply be part of the image.

Keep perspective, lighting, scale, crop and colour logic identical in every prompt and change only the letter and material. Use the strongest result as a visual reference. Finally, place every image on the same canvas size and match the optical height of the letters.

You can try, but individual letters are significantly more reliable. For a clean word, generate each letter separately and assemble them in Photoshop, Affinity Photo, Canva or another layout tool. This keeps spelling, order and spacing under your control.

Not directly. The AI produces individual images, not an installable font with clean vector outlines, consistent spacing and kerning. To build a real typeface, you would need every letter, number and punctuation mark in the same style, vectorise the set and assemble it in software such as Glyphs or FontLab. For logos, headlines and image marks, the workflow shown here is often sufficient.
